Lance Armstrong races for love and money — but for a Stetson?
That’s what the winner of last year’s Wasco Wild West 75 recumbency
road race scored. That, plus some cash and the honor of pedaling away
victorious from the first annual recumbency race hosted near The
Dalles, Oregon.
The Wasco Wild West returns for its second time on May 7. With the
initial run under their belt, the organizers are inviting all
recumbent cyclists to test themselves over the 75-miles of rolling
hills the race course follows.
Nearly all of last year’s 13 cyclists are returning to race, according to chief organizer Clay Smith. (To read their comments firsthand, check out the Oregon Human Power Vehicle club’s Web site. This year, word is going
out to numerous individual recumbent cyclists and clubs around the
country — and a couple in Europe.
